Congratulations! Staying awake for 21 hours is tiring enough, but swimming for that long is utterly mind-boggling. Can't wait to read and hear all about it! Thanks to Laura for the text updates: it was utterly compelling being able to follow them. Celiax

Anna I don't know you nor have I met you.
But I am a Samaritan Volunteer and after reading through your website and blog I just had to leave my very best wishes to you for the Channel and months ahead AND to say thank you.
Good luck Anna

Great to have met you in Turkey Anna. Your swimming adventures will take some beating! What is the name of your boat for the Channel crossing? There is a good website on www.shipais.com that will enable me to monitor your progress across the Channel and watch the shipping you have to contend with. Just click on Folkstone when you get onto this site and hover over all the ships/boats and their name comes up! The very best of luck to you, you mad courageous fool you!

Hi Anna, Long time no contact. Good on you girl, I hope you do all you want too. I hope you are keeping well, your mum has been keeping me in touch with your efforts but today, a few minutes to spare, so I thought I would seek out your page and bung a few quid into your charity pot. Good Luck from Blackpool. Lots of Love. Shirley. xxx

Anna,
Hat's off to you. I've got so much admiration for your commitment and stamina. I got into open water swimming doing a charity swim last year and really enjoy it, but lakes are definitely favoured over the sea. How you achieve the distances you do is truly inspiring. Thanks for the tips on the OSS site; will tyr the "new arms" thing and see if it works for me.

ANNA. YOU ARE INCREDIBLE. SAW YOU AT STOKES BAY THEOTHER SUNDAY PLOUGING UP AND DOWN THE BEACH AREA. TRIED TO SAY HELLO WHEN YOU LEFT THE WATER COMPLETE WITH FRIEND AND KAYAK ( SUNDAY 31/05/09) HOWEVER COULDN'T GET TO YOU QUICK ENOUGH BEFORE YOU WENT BEHIND YACHT CLUB, PUT KAYAK AWAY AND WENT WITH YOUR FRIEND TO CHANGE OUT OF YOUR COSTUME.
INCIDENTALLY YOUR FRIEND, WHO ITHINK HAD A BLUE COSTUME AND WHITE CAP ALSO SEEMED TO BE A POWERFUL ANS STRONG SWIMMER AS WELL..
GOOD LUCK IN YOUR CHALLENGES. AS SOMEONE WHO MANAGES 80 LENGHTS OF MY LOCAL POOL TWICE A WEEK I ENVY YOUR SHHER COURAGE COURAGE GUTS AND STAMINA.
YOU MUST DO HOURS OF TRAINING BOTH IN AND OUT OF THE WATER AND I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE WEIGHTS YOU LIFT, SIT UPS PRESS UPS ETC YOU DO TO BE WAY IN EXCESS OF WHAT MOST MEN CAN DO.
MUCH SUCCESS. WILL KEEP LOOKING AT YOUR BLOG.

Hi Anna - you are one gutsy bird.....I take my hat off to you for doing things that us mere mortals can only dream about. I wish you all the very best of luck and I know in my heart that you will be successful in the Channel this year! I have now started training again, but it will take me many months to get fit so whilst I am punding up and down the pool in Hamble your endeavours will give me something to focus on. All the very, very best, Allie x

Anna you inspire us all; my big challenge this morning was to get my three children up and out to school with the enviromental challenge of one inch of snow. Maybe I should suggest we dangle ice cubes down their socks for tomorrow. Good luck and incredible that you have designed this website from scratch singlehandedly. Normal room conditions I hope! dx
